Lake Country RCMP looking for more information on 2 unsolved crimes

Mounties in Lake Country are looking for additional information about two unsolved crimes that took place on July 18.

The first incident took place just before noon when police received a report of a male who was allegedly seen walking out of a grocery store with two full baskets of food.

According to the police report, the food was valued at over $600.

A store employee, plus two citizens, attempted to stop the man. They were able to retrieve the two baskets of food but the suspect got away.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, about 50 years old and wearing a large red camping style backpack, a green light-weight coat and a blue hat.

The second unsolved crime involved a woman, aged 30 to 35, allegedly shoplifting $350 worth of alcohol from a liquor store.

Police say the woman entered the store at about 5:30 pm and reportedly took six bottles of liquor and concealed them in a beach bag before leaving without paying.
