The West Kelowna RCMP has asked for help to find a man’s wheelchair after it was stolen while he was fishing.

It happened at Headwaters Lake, to the west of Peachland and West Kelowna, on Sept. 9.

Police said the wheelchair is “much-needed” by the victim.

The thief, or thieves, broke into his vehicle through a small side vent window.

They then took his foldable Veloce carbon fibre wheelchair, which is worth $7,000.

A Canon 7D camera with a 150-600 mm lens worth about $5,000 was also taken, along with some loose change, a fishing tackle and a battery charger.
