Motorcycle crash in Oliver claims the life of 44-year-old

One man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Oliver on Friday night.

According to the RCMP, two motorcycles were seen travelling at a high rate of speed on Fairview Road around 9:40 p.m.

One of the bikes reportedly turned unexpectedly in front of the other rider, which caused a collision between the two.

Emergency crews found one of the men, 44, unresponsive at the scene and he was transported to Oliver Hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other man, 33, was also transported to Oliver Hospital for treatment of “road rash,” but didn’t suffer any serious injuries.

The accident is now under investigation and it’s not yet known if any charges will be laid.
