Nominations are open to elect musicians, bands and music venues in the Thompson Okanagan for the Gonzo Okanagan People’s Choice Music Awards.
For each of the 25 categories, the top three nominees will be given the opportunity to showcase their musical projects online at GonzoOkanagan.com in April, and the final vote between the top three will take place in May.
The GonzoFest on June 17 will showcase the awards for the top nominees.
GonzoFest was previously part of the GonzoOkanagan.com Music Industry Golf Tournament and Festival, but the event will now be under two separate titles.
The Gonzo Okanagan Music Industry Golf Tournament will take place during the day, and the GonzoFest will follow in the evening at the Sunset Ranch Golf Course in Kelowna.
“It just makes sense to expand the festival to include the Gonzo Okanagan People’s Choice Music Awards,” says Brad Krauza of Gonzo Okanagan.
“Recognizing local artists and venues for their hard work and talent is at the foundation of what Gonzo Okanagan is all about.”
Opportunities for local musicians to perform are available, as well as sponsorship opportunities for tee boxes and award categories.
Nominations for local musicians can be made here until March 31.
