North Okanagan school put on lockdown after teacher threatened with a weapon

A tense situation unfolded at a middle school in Armstrong on Friday morning. 

According to RCMP, around 11:30 am, a student allegedly threatened a teacher with a weapon at Len Wood Middle School.

The student was contained and staff initiated a lockdown until police arrived.

Officers found that staff had successfully de-escalated the situation and the youth was taken into custody.

The lockdown has since ended, but police have launched an investigation into the incident.
