The public is invited to join Lake Country Mayor James Baker and Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran for the ceremony that will be followed by a 6.5 km group walk and refreshments.

While portions of the trail have been in use for much of the summer, what was once the CN rail corridor will now be open to the public beginning Saturday, Sept. 27.

Upon its completion, the Okanagan Rail Trail will span just shy of 50 kilometers, connecting communities all the way from Kelowna to Coldstream.
