A lengthy drug investigation was concluded with the execution of two search warrants on Friday, Jan. 25.
The investigation centered around a group of drug traffickers believed to be responsible for supplying a significant quantity of fentanyl and other drugs to the North Okanagan.
After making two arrests and executing a search warrant on Dec. 14, 2018, police were back at it in late January.
First, police arrested a 65-year-old man and 54-year-old woman and executed a search warrant at their Kalamalka Road residence.
At the property, they seized a significant quantity of what’s believed to be cocaine, along with body armour and other items related to drug trafficking.
On the same day, they arrested a 37-year-old woman and executed a search warrant on her Pinantan Lake residence.
Officers seized drugs suspected to be cocaine, methamphetamine and large quantities of suspected fentanyl, along with Canadian currency and other drug trafficking related items.
“This was a very successful investigation targeting a group from the street level dial a dope dealer to the person we believe responsible for bringing drugs into the Vernon area,” said Sgt. David Evans.
“Fentanyl and the impact it has on the community remains a top priority for the detachment.”
