A Peachland mother has issued a warning to drivers after she realized the front lug nuts on her car were loosened – while she was driving with her three-year-old child.

Odina Skovgaard, who lives on Clarence Road, said she noticed the wheels making a “strange noise” while she was driving at low speed.

She stopped and asked her husband to check out the car, thus avoiding disaster.

They found that all but one of the nuts had been loosened.

“I suspect the one tighter one was left there so I could build some speed before disaster,” she explained.

She added: “There is an individual out there who wishes people, including small children, to be in a MVA and be hurt or die.”

Skovgaard also said that her car was the only one around with children’s seats in it.

“They walked past my neighbours' truck and my husband's SUV to go into my carport and do this,” she said.

Skovgaard is understandably furious.

“When you try to hurt my babies, this momma bear feels fifty shades of rage,” she said.

She said she is "checking every time" before she drives now, adding: "I'm completely freaked out that my kids could have been hurt.

“Please check your car and report it to the police if this happens to you.”
