The Peachland Pier will have its grand opening this spring.

The Peachland Pier Project committee including the Peachland Sportsman's Association, Peachland Lions, and the Peachland Rotary are organizing a grand opening for the pier, which will include a family festival event.

“After much fundraising and the hard work of all those involved we are finally ready to celebrate the beautiful new all accessible Peachland Pier,” said the committee.

The major draw of the pier will be its wheelchair accessibility and the fact that it’s specifically designed for fishing, the first of its kind on Okanagan Lake.

The event will take place on May 11, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

At 3:30 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony. People will also be able to enjoy an artisan market, live entertainment and face painting.

You can look forward to delicious food from The Boneyard Barbeque and Grilling Co. and live music from Poppa Thom and Joshua Smith. The Kinshira Performance Troupe will also be performing.
