Police searching for 2 men after cyclist knocked over and assaulted in Okanagan

A cyclist was knocked off his bike and assaulted by two men in a vehicle following an argument in Vernon. 

It happened around the 2000 block of 43rd Street in Vernon at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday. 

The victim, a 47-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with two men in a white Jeep Cherokee, Mounties said. 

As the cyclist began to drive away, however, he was knocked off his bike by the Jeep and fell to the ground.

The two men then exited the vehicle and assaulted him, police said. 

“Fortunately, the cyclist was not seriously injured as a result of this incident,” said Cpl Tania Finn

“As a precaution, BC Ambulance Service attended to take the man to hospital for medical assessment.”

The suspects are both in their 30s and one of them was wearing a beige/mauve hoodie and a black hat.
