UPDATE: Hwy 97 open after serious collision north of Summerland

(Update: Jan. 16, 2020 @ 4:15 pm) - DriveBC is reporting that Highway 97 is now fully open north of Summerland.

The RCMP said that the road was closed for a time due to a serious collision.

Travellers are being advised that Highway 97 has been closed this afternoon due to a serious collision.

The RCMP said that the highway has been closed 5 km north of Summerland, near Callan Road. 

Police say they will advise when the road has been reopened.
