A snake chilling in the Okanagan got the experience of a lifetime thanks to an area car dealership.

According to the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC, a northern pacific rattlesnake was found at a Ferrari dealership in Vancouver. Originally, workers at the shop thought it was a garter snake, though they quickly realized it was far more dangerous.

After notifying Wildlife Rescue, workers found the animal was microchipped during a research survey, meaning they knew where to take the snake.

The groups determined the animal needed to be transported to Dewdney Animal Hospital in Maple Ridge.

Researchers determined the snake likely snuck into a Ferrari in Osoyoos and was transported unknowingly to the coast.

"It is never a Dull Day at Dewdney when we get a call about a Rattlesnake that hitched a ride of a lifetime from Osoyoos to Vancouver."
