Okanagan residents should be aware of a special weather statement currently in effect.

According to Environment Canada, a fog advisory is in place for the north, central and south Okanagan. Reduced visibility is expected from now until Sunday morning.

"Fog and low cloud have developed through the interior valleys as a ridge of high pressure builds over the province," wrote EC.

"Visibility will start to improve this morning for most regions. However, foggy conditions with reduced visibilities are expected to return tonight into Sunday morning."

Other areas of the province experiencing fog include the Kootenays, Shuswap, Similkameen, West Columbia and more.

"Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance."
