One of the Okanagan’s top golf courses is hoping to be open for business within the month.

Tower Ranch Golf Club says that “unless authorities determine otherwise, we will be open for play in late April or early May with numerous safety precautions in place for our staff and guests.”

“Like many within our industry, we believe that playing golf can provide many positive benefits during this crisis.”

In the email sent to those on the course’s mailing list, it said that staff have been taking all the necessary precautions while getting the course in shape for the season.

As a result, it’s taken longer than it usually would to get Tower Ranch in the condition that golfers have come to expect from the nationally ranked golf course.

“We will send out an email in the coming weeks as soon as our opening day is confirmed, along with the many safety precautions we will be following,” said the email from Tower Ranch.

“In the meantime, please respect that the golf course is private property and that it is closed for any and all activities until further notice.”

COVID-19-related precautions that have been used at other golf courses across North America include no carts (or one cart per person), no rakes for sand traps and no touching or removing pins.
