A truck stolen from West Kelowna has been found, but that’s about the extent of the good news.

Around midnight today, Vernon Fire Rescue Services found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames at 20th Street and 42nd Avenue.

When the RCMP arrived on scene, they were able to identify the charred Ford Ranger truck as one that was stolen three weeks ago from the Central Okanagan.

“Through further investigation, front line officers determined the truck was reported stolen out of West Kelowna on May 24, 2019,” said Cst. Kelly Brett.

“The circumstances into the stolen vehicle and arson remains under investigation at this time. No one was injured as a result of the fire.”

Anyone with information regarding the stolen vehicle or fire is asked to contact the North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
