Enderby, B.C.’s Starlight Drive-In is one of the region’s best spots for a romantic date night.

So it’s of little surprise the popular drive-in was the site of Okanagan couple Rally and Jade’s first date.

What was a surprise, however, was Rally returning to the same drive-in Saturday night and proposing to his now fiancé Jade during the opening movie credits.

"Rally suggested we go see Avengers: Endgame, which we had already seen, but he said our friends were going," recalled Jade on Monday.

"In hindsight, it all makes sense, Saturday was the nine-month anniversary of our very first date, which also happened to be at the Starlight Drive-In."

Unknowing to Jade, Rally had organized about 40 of the couple's friends and family members to arrive at the drive-in as well.

But that’s not all the leading man had organized.

“We went to get snacks and while we were standing there watching the previews, I suddenly heard his voice over the loudspeakers,” explained Jade.

After months of planning with the managers at the Starlight Drive-In, Rally had arranged for a personal song he had written to play over top of a slideshow featuring pictures of the adorable couple on the big screen.

“I wrote and recorded a song for the slideshow at Pure Sound Recording in West Kelowna,” said the 20-year-old Rally.

“When the lyrics ‘it feels so right, let's start a new life, will you marry me?' played I got down on a knee and popped the question.”

The busy drive-in erupted in applause following the epic proposal as the happy couple embraced each other under the stars.

"I was shocked, I felt so special," said 19-year-old Jade.

"To see everyone there supporting us was unbelievably sweet too."

Congratulations Rally and Jade!
