Upon arrival, officers were advised by the BC Ambulance Service that the 56-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The investigation is still on-going, however, it appears the diver may have gone into medical distress during an 80-foot dive,” said Cst. Kelly Brett.

“Other divers and witnesses on scene provided life saving measures to the male until emergency crews arrived. Sadly despite those efforts the male passed away.”

The death has been deemed non-suspicious in nature and the RCMP continue to work with the BC Coroners Service on the investigation.

No further information is available at this time.
