Boutin added another medal to her earlier bronze she won in the 500m race. Her second bronze was captured in the 1500m short track speed skating event where she finished with a time of 2:25.834.

She is now the first Canadian female short track speed skater to win two individual medals at the same Olympics.

Boutin has one more event at the games, she is scheduled to compete in the 3000m relay on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

The gold medal was won by Korea's Minjeong Choi with a time of 2:24.948, silver went to Jinyu Li of China with a time of 2:25.703.

Marianne St-Gelais and Valerie Maltais were eliminated from the 1500m when they were both penalized in their semifinals.

Prior to PyeongChang 2018, Canada had never won an Olympic medal in the women’s 1500m. It was the only short track event in which no Canadian had ever stood on the Olympic podium.
