If you provided assistance at a Christmas Eve crash near Penticton, or know the couple that did RCMP want to talk to you.

On December 24th around 8:30 a.m., two vehicles collided on Highway 97 North of Penticton by the Kickininee Park. When RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services arrived at the crash they saw that the crash involved a brown Honda Odyssey van that was travelling northbound and a southbound Chevrolet Spark sedan.

The adult man who was driving the van crossed the centre line and smashed into the Spark, which was being driven by a woman. Both drivers are from the Summerland area and were taken to the Penticton Regional Hospital for medical treatment. The man was injured in the crash but was released from hospital. The female driver of the purple Spark remains in the hospital in serious but stable condition.

RCMP are looking for the middle aged couple that provided medical assistance to the male driver of the van. The couple stayed at the crash and gave assistance until BC Ambulance arrived to help the young man.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk with the south East District RCMP said investigators need to speak to that couple, who left before being identified and interviewed.

The couple is asked to contact the South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
