A boy from the South Okanagan spent 40 minutes holding up 911 dispatchers in the area last Tuesday after calling them with multiple false reports.

On March 14th, the 6-year-old boy called 911 to report that the airport was being robbed.

After, he claimed there was a fire.

Finally, he told them his mother was injured after a fall.

After nearly 40 minutes of misleading emergency services personnel, the boy was located at a Penticton home. His grandfather was at the home but was unaware of the boy’s mischievous calls.

Police officers said they had a long discussion with the boy about calling 911 and implications of making false reports.
