Penticton’s only nightclub is closing its doors after 20 years in business.

The Blue Mule “is riding into the sunset,” says a posting on nightclub’s Facebook page.

“Our doors will be permantly closing after Sunday, Sept. 2. We wish to thank all our present and past employees and patrons for being apart of a piece of history in Penticton. Stay tuned for exciting new things at 218 Martin St. Opening in 2019.

“We look forward to seeing old and new patrons in the next few weeks to celebrate The Mule .... famous for smiles and music of all styles. Check out our Facebook and Instagram for the final up and coming events.”

The Blue Mule, which most local residents simply called The Mule, was not only a dance club, but also hosted numerous live concerts, comedy nights and even wrestling cards and other events over its two decades in business.

NowMedia placed a phone call to management at The Mule and will update this story as more information becomes available.
