A world-famous rock pianist who has worked with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis has been announced as a headliner at the Penticton Peach Festival this summer.

Ben Waters will be performing on August 9.

“I absolutely love this town,” Waters, who is from England, said.

“It’s absolutely fantastic and this festival is going to be awesome.”

He has previously performed at the Dream Cafe in the city.

Boogie star Waters has sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House and Royal Albert Hall.

He is retiring later this year after a career that has included about 6,000 gigs.

“This will be a show not to miss,” Don Kendall, Peach Festival president, said.

He added: “Ben’s performances are known to keep people up long after they have gone home because their feet are still dancing.”

Waters will be joined on stage with his son, Tom, a saxophonist.
