Earlier today, esteemed Canadian poet Shane Koyczan released a poem written for the Humboldt Broncos.

The Penticton native shared the heartfelt tribute on his Facebook page with the caption:

"We have no hockey sticks to put outside, so I wrote this."

The poem is one of many compassionate gestures shared by Canadians towards the tragedy in Humboldt.

On Monday, people all over the world left hockey sticks out on their front steps to honour the those who passed.

Koyczan's world tour will stop in Vernon on Sept. 24, 2018.
