Although owners of the Peach Ice Cream Shop on Okanagan Lake were moved out of the iconic Giant Peach last month, it doesn’t mean you’ve seen the last of the tasty treats in town.
In fact, Longtime Peach proprietor Diana Sterling confirmed Friday afternoon in a Facebook post that they’ve moved just down the street under a brand-new name.
“The “Cherry On Top” is that extra bit of sweetness in life. It’s what you experience when you choose to keep dreaming and creating, even when you lose heart for a little while," explains the post.
"It’s that moment you get to taste the delicious results of grit and perseverance and love.”
Penticton residents can breathe a sigh of relief that their beloved ice cream shop will carry the same delicious menu, as their outrageous shakes and crazy cones will live on under the Cherry On Top Shake Shop.
With a bittersweet tribute to the Peach, the Cherry on Top Shake Shop will be the next chapter in the crazy adventure of frozen treat creations.
Just a quick five-minute trot away from its old location, the Shake Shop will be opening its doors on May 20 at 1028 Lakeshore Drive.
Sterling has already deemed it “Penticton's most photo-worthy ice cream shop.”
