Hi my name is Hobbs! I recently arrived in Canada in search of my furever home!

I was rescued off the streets of Kuwait. I used to live with my friends, and we would live off the food and water that the shelter volunteers left for us.

Eventually, I figured that I might as well stick around and let them take care of me. So, I hopped in their car and have been enjoying spending time with humans ever since.

It was very lucky that I made the decision to go with them that day, as the authorities in my home country have started a horrific campaign of poisoning stray dogs. I hate to think about what became of my friends from the street.

Things improved for me when I went to live at the shelter. There were lots of other dogs for me to play with, good food and regular human contact, which I love. I have even got to meet some of the local school children when they come to visit and I enjoyed them too.

I have arrived in Canada and am living in a kennel and I am miserable because I am lonely for human company.  I urgently need to find a foster home or forever home where I can be the only pet.

Age

9-months-old

Breed

Labrador/White Shepherd

Personality Description

I am a friendly and energetic dog who enjoys going to the dog park and playing with all the other dogs there, but much as I love interacting with other dogs outside, I can be protective of my toys and food if there’s another dog in the home, or even a cat.

This resource guarding behaviour only shows up when I believe I have a home, otherwise you’d never see it. It means I need to be the only pet, but I promise you I have more love to give than 10 pets could offer you.

I am the kind of dog who responds well to confident dog-owners and I confess I need some training to improve things like my leash manners, so it would be great if there was someone interested in teaching me how to be a good Canadian pet. I am young and smart and we could become even more bonded as we learn stuff.

Speaking of learning things, I am definitely food motivated, so treats are a very persuasive training tool. Because of my energetic nature I would like a home with a yard please - no apartments for me!

My foster mom says I am super affectionate and the person who adopts me will be very loved. Please come and meet me soon so I can show you just what an affectionate and eager to please dog I am.

I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $600.

If you’re interested in adopting me, please contact Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
