A Kamloops woman got quite the sight while out and about on the North Shore on Friday.

Allison Burton was outside her house on Schubert Drive shortly before noon when she came face to face with a beautiful lynx.

The animal wasn't afraid to strike a pose as it made its way down the road.

Burton explained that police were made aware of the animal's location. She noted that it appeared to be unbothered as residents rode their bikes past it.

"It was great, everyone just stopped, watched and let him go on his way," wrote Burton. "The RCMP were aware he was there too as they stopped and monitored him."

"Honestly, he didn't care about anyone around. There were people riding bikes past him. He was in his own world enjoying the sunshine."

Similar sightings have been reported throughout Kamloops this year. Most have been on the north end of the city with occurrences at MacArthur Island and Bachelor Heights.

Burton's post, which she shared to her work page Shyda Forever Friends, has received over 1,000 shares since Friday.
