PHOTOS: Organizers put on impressive fireworks show to honour 2020 Calgary Stampede

Friday was a sad day for many residents and travellers as it should have been the first day of the Calgary Stampede. 

Unfortunately, the annual event was cancelled this year due to the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. To honour Stampede, organizers put on an extended fireworks display above Cow Town.

The fireworks were shot off above an empty Stampede grandstand and grounds, which drew the attention of many Calgarians. Shown below are some photos from the show put on by the organizers:
