NowMedia is entering the world of print.

The Kelowna-based company – which has titles in Prince George, Kamloops, Kelowna and Penticton – is planning on releasing one publication every month for the second half of this year.

It will start with an issue covering the Best of Kelowna awards in June.

The brand’s operations manager, Karen Montgomery, said she believes there are opportunities for publications with a fresh perspective to thrive despite the industry’s recent troubles.

“We believe our approach and our brand of storytelling combined with the strength of our parent company’s recent investment in technology will provide us with the formula to succeed where so many are being forced to scale back,” Montgomery explained, referring to Csek Creative’s purchase of $500,000 of printing equipment this year.

“We are already creating timely, relevant and engaging content, so providing another avenue where our community can access the stuff that matters just makes sense.”

Rob Cupello, Csek Creative’s vice president of business development, said the firm is in a strong position to help with NowMedia’s latest venture.

“Csek Creative is not only the largest but is the only full 360 agency in the B.C. Interior and we will continue to identify opportunities where others face challenges.”

He added: "We will provide NowMedia with the key triangular pillars to success in the traditional world of sales, printing and distribution,” said Cupello.

"We have brought on Christine Esovoloff to our team, who has experience selling publications in our community, allowing NowMedia to focus on storytelling, which we do better than anyone.”
