Air support, a dog unit and plain clothes officers were called in to find a lone gun man spotted in Kamloops early Thursday morning.

At approximately 8:20 a.m. police received a report of a man at the intersection of Tranquille Road and Schreiner Street with a long gun. The caller said he was dressed in camo gear and standing by the roadside so police were dispatched to the area. With the help of the other response teams the Kamloops RCMP managed to locate the suspicious male.

He turned out to be a local hunter who was waiting to be picked up by his ride to head out for a day in the bush. RCMP stood down once they realized there was no suspicious activity, just a case of an over vigilant resident.
