The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the remains found badly burned in Langley on November 25th.

The victim is 34 year old Edmonton resident David Thanh Lam and police say he is the victim of a homicide. According to IHIT, Lam was well known to police and had a criminal record dating back to 1998.

“The cause of death will remain holdback evidence and while the motive has not been confirmed, investigators believe it to be linked to criminal activity,” said Staff Sergeant Jennifer Pound.

On November 25th, 2014 RCMP found Lam’s body badly burned off the side of a road and immediately called in IHIT to investigate. Lam’s next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.
