Premier Christy Clark Announces Cabinet Changes

Premier Christy Clark has announced changes in cabinet responsibilities and it means a local MLA will be in a new position.

Effective immediately Andrew Wilkinson will serve as the Minister of Advanced Education and Amrik Virk will be the new minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services. Along with these changes the Premier also made changes to Parliamentary Secretaries. Penticton MLA Dan Ashton who was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister Responsible for Core Review will assume a new position.

Ashton has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of Finance, Michael de Jong. MLA Jane Thronthwaite will now become the Parliamentary Secretary for Child Mental Health and Anti-Bullying for the Minister of Children and Family Development, Stephanie Cadieux.

MLA Mike Bernier will also see a change of position as he becomes Parliamentary Secretary for Energy Literacy and the Environment for Minister of Environment, Mary Polak.
