RCMP in Surrey are dealing with what is believed to be a domestic incident that has sent one woman to hospital with head injuries.

RCMP received reports of a man threatening a woman with a gun in the 12800 block of 100th Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police say when they arrived at the residence they found the woman injured and she was taken to hospital in serious condition. The man had fled on foot but police were provided with a detailed description and he located and arrested nearby. Unarmed at that time police took the man into custody and began canvassing the neighbourhood for details about the incident.

Officers are still in the early stages of the investigation but believe the two people are known to each other. No other details about the incident have been released.
