Shayne Higgins says his daughter was born on February 11th, 1991 and was given up for adoption as he and his partner were very young and could not care for the little girl. Every year on February 11th he thinks of his daughter and how she is doing and wants to reconnect with her. So Higgins has taken to Facebook to try and find his daughter, and perhaps introduce her to her long lost family.

With just two photos and a birthday, Higgins knows it’s a long shot to find his daughter, but is hoping that the power of social media will prevail and he will be connected to the now 24 year old woman. The unknown girl has two half siblings, and two full sisters and two full brothers waiting to meet her.

Since posting the photo on Facebook the picture and plea from Higgins has been shared thousands of times and picked up by all sorts of media outlets. With her birthday on Wednesday, Higgins is hoping he can give his little girl the ultimate birthday gift by meeting her family.
