The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a warning to consumers as a certain brand of chicken breasts has been recalled because of a possible contamination.
Lilydale brand Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breasts have been recalled from the marketplace. Packages in the 400 gram size with a best before date of April 28th, 2015 should not be consumed. There have not been any reported illnesses associated with the chicken but it should still be returned or thrown out.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, but it can still make you sick. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches, and neck stiffness. The chicken breasts were sold at several retailers in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
