A West Vancouver parent has had charges of assault laid against him following an incident at a minor hockey game.

Crown Counsel has sworn the charge against Christian Patrick Jarvis of West Vancouver following the incident that took place on March 7th. Police responded to a call for a fight between two men in the viewing area of a Bantam A1 hockey playoff game. Other spectators attempted to break up the fight, but police were eventually called in to help.

No serious injuries were reported, but the alleged victim, a 67-year-old Langley man, suffered minor bruising and soreness. The incident took place while the 13- and 14-year-olds from the Hollyburn Huskies AA bantam team were facing Semiahmoo.

Jarvis is expected to appear at the North Vancouver Provincial Court on May 6th to enter a plea.
