A motorcyclist in Delta, B.C. was caught speeding more than 130km/h over the limit, and the proof for officers was right in the GoPro strapped to his helmet.

Delta Police just posted the YouTube video online, showing GoPro footage from April of this motorcyclist weaving through vehicles and cranking up the speed. The rider is enjoying his ride on Highway 17 southbound when he comes across two Delta Police Traffic Section officers doing speed enforcement on the highway.

When the man is pulled over, he’d just registered 213km/h on a laser in an 80 km/h zone.

The motorbike was impounded and the rider was subject to several Motor Vehicle Act charges. Officers noticed the motorcyclist was wearing a GoPro, so they watched the footage later. “The rider reaches speeds of over 220 km/hr, splits traffic by driving between the rows of cars, and at other times weaves in and out of other cars and large semi trucks/dump trucks - putting himself and other road users at considerable risk,” says Delta Police.

The motorcyclist allowed Delta Police to post the video online, so hopefully his mistake will help others to be safer in the future.
