Original Story:

The Coquihalla Highway is closed in both directions between Hope and the snowshed because of a car fire.

The fire from the car has spread to the forest near Caroline Mine Road, forcing the closure. There is no detour available in the area, but an alternate route via Highway 3 or Highway 1 is available. There is no estimated time of re-opening. Firefighters are on scene attempting to control the blaze.
