A number of temperature records were broken in the province again this week as temperatures reached almost 40 degrees in some areas.
According to Environment Canada, temperature records were broken in 10 locations, with some places smashing records that were more than 70 years old. The hot spot in the province was in Lillooet as the temperature there reached 39.4 on Thursday. The old record, which was set in 1942, was 38.9 degrees. The second warmest location in B.C. on Thursday was in Pemberton as the mercury reached 38.5 degrees, breaking the previous record from 1942 which was 35.6 degrees.
