Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death of Vancouver Teen

UPDATE: according to Constable Brian Montague, Vancouver police are now investigating the City's 9th homicide of the year. 

Jason Nguyen was in fact 15 years old when he was found with serious injuries by a family member in his home. He was transported to hospital, but unfortunately died on the operating table. 

At this time, there is no indication that any family members have been involved. The details are limited, as the investigation is still in its early stages.

Vancouver Police are investigating a suspicious death after a 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with substantial injuries.

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, police and paramedics were called to an East Vancouver home on 24th Avenue near Rupert Street.

The young man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but he did not survive.

The death is deemed as suspicious, and detectives with the Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Section have been called in.

Police have not released the young teen’s name.

The investigation is still in its preliminary stage; additional details will be released as they become available.
