UPDATE: Surrey RCMP has clarified that the injured man was actually stabbed and not shot. The man was transported to a regional hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening stabbing-related injuries. Although police were originally notified of a shooting, investigators could not substantiate that there was a shooting in the area.

Original Story:

A man was transported to a trauma hospital following yet another shooting in Surrey.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, July 26th, RCMP received calls of shots fired in the area of 184th Street and 92nd Avenue.

After arriving on scene, officers located a male in the area suffering from significant injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that this incident was not a random act, but rather targeted at the young male who was sent to hospital.

Moving into Monday morning, 92nd Avenue will be closed between 184th Street and 187th Street for the next few hours while investigators gather evidence.

Over the last couple of months, there have been several targeted shootings in Surrey. The latest shooting took place on July 6th on 71st A Avenue, early in the morning.
