The Vancouver Police are investigating the city’s 10th murder of the year after a 20-year-old man was found dead in East Vancouver.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, police received a 911 call reporting the sound of gunfire on Seaforth Drive near Rupert Street.

Police and paramedics arrived on scene to find the victim lying on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The young man’s name has not been released at this time, but the victim is known to police. According to VPD, the 20-year-old was on bail at the time of his death; he was facing a manslaughter charge.

Investigators are busy canvassing the region for evidence and speaking to witnesses.

Sadly, it’s been a busy couple of days for the Vancouver police, as a 15-year-old boy was also found dead in his home Sunday afternoon.

Jason Nguyen was transported to hospital with serious injuries, but unfortunately he died on the operating table.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
