CP Rail Investigating Derailed Coal Train in Kootenays

Canadian Pacific Railway crews are investigating a derailment of a train near Sparwood on Thursday.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 30th a freight train carrying coal derailed near the community in the Kootenays.

There were no injuries to crew and there were no public safety issues.

CP Rail immediately enacted emergency protocols and all safety measures were taken as crews responded to the situation.

The incident will receive a full investigation.
