Prince George RCMP Seek Information About Suspicious Death

Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Section are conducting an investigation following a suspicious death Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:40 a.m. on August 23rd, a member of the Prince George RCMP located a deceased man near the end of Haldi Road in Prince George.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but police are treating this investigation as a homicide.

Investigators have identified the man as 35-year-old Matthew Begg and are requesting any information about him. Begg is described a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes, 5’10” tall, and 212 lbs.

Police would like to speak to anyone who had contact with Begg over the past several days. Investigators are interested in his habits and whereabouts.

A portion of Haldi Road is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time.
