RCMP Looking for Suspect After Attempted Abduction in North Vancouver

Police in North Vancouver are issuing a public warning after a man attempted to abduct a 16-year-old girl.

According to the RCMP, the girl was approached near the Capilano Mall and was pulled toward a waiting vehicle. Police say that two men were involved in the alleged abduction attempt, which occurred on August 6th, 2015 around 1:45 p.m. in the 900-block of Marine Drive.

The young girl was approached by a man, who told her she was beautiful, then proceeded to pull her by the hand toward a waiting vehicle, where another man was waiting in the driver’s seat. The girl managed to free herself from the suspect and flee before being pulled into the vehicle.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40-years-old, with a bulky build and large shoulders. He was over six feet tall and wearing all dark clothing. The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 40-years-old.

The vehicle involved in the incident is described as a 1990s black sedan similar to a Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla. Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 referencing file #2015-19381.
