Names Released of Men Who Died in Jet-Ski Incident

The names of the victims of a fatal jet-ski incident that took place near Richmond on August 27th have been released.

Ramanjit Bachra and Salinder Burmy, both aged 56, were found unresponsive in the south arm of the Fraser River by a commercial vessel that spotted them and their unmanned jet-ski.

The crew of the vessel notified authorities, and the Canadian Coast Guard responded with a hovercraft. They were able to remove the men from the water and take them to landing point near the spot where Richmond’s #4 Road intersects the city’s dyke. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The RCMP and the Canadian Coast Guard are continuing to investigate this incident. Both the families of Ramanjit Bachra and Salinder Burmy have been notified.
