Woman Dead Following Single Vehicle Collision Near Revelstoke

A 24-year-old woman is dead following an accident on the TransCanda Highway just outside of Revelstoke.

At around 2:45 a.m. on Monday, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision 35 kilometres east of Revelstoke. Upon arrival, police located a Chrysler 300 down an embankment. The vehicle was travelling eastbound when it left the roadway, collided with several trees, and landed at the bottom of the embankment.

Emergency officials found a 24-year-old woman dead at the scene and the male driver was transported to hospital in Revelstoke with non-life threatening injuries. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Police have yet to determine the cause of the crash as the investigation is ongoing.
