B.C. RCMP Find Human Remains

Human remains were discovered near the Townsite area of Powell River, B.C., on October 2nd.

The discovery took place at approximately 7 p.m. and was made by Powell River RCMP, who are now being assisted in their investigation by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) and the B.C. Coroners Service.

“At this time the remains have not been identified, nor a cause of death established,” said Powell River RCMP in a press release.

“No further information will be released at this time, as this investigation is in the preliminary stages.”

No current danger to the public is believed to be associated with this discovery.
