Fruitvale Man Dies in Boating Accident on Kootenay Lake

One man was killed and three others were sent to hospital in a boating collision on Kootenay Lake.

Creston and Kaslo RCMP responded to a report that a boat had struck a rock near Riondel at approximately 9 p.m. on October 11th.

Four people were on board at the time of the collision.

A 30-year-old male from Fruitvale succumbed to injuries on scene.

The three other occupants of the boat were transported to a local area hospital.

The investigation continues to determine the cause of the incident.
