Body of Missing Camper Found in Alouette Lake

A body has been found in Golden Ears Provincial Park.

On New Year’s Day Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue were paged by RCMP to head to Gold Creek campground in the provincial park because there was a camper that had gone missing.

 The man was last seen by friends and family around 2:30 p.m., leaving his campsite.

Search crews used resources from Delta PD k-9, Coquitlam SAR, Central Fraser Valley SAR, and Surrey SAR to search for the man.

On January 2nd the search resumed, after a short break overnight. Around 10:00 a.m., one of the search boats located a body in Alouette Lake, which was of the 39-year-old missing camper. 

Police say there are no signs of foul play.
