Two suspects in custody following alleged sex assault

Police are investigating allegations of sexual assault after two suspects were taken into custody Saturday.

Just after 2a.m. on Saturday morning, University RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at an apartment building located in the 5700 block of Birney Avenue in Vancouver. Police found two men in the area, with both men taken into custody outside the residence.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, police said they can confirm they are investigating allegations of sexual assault. The suspects and the victims are not known to each other.

University RCMP, with support from the Major Crime’s Investigations Unit are continuing to investigation the incident and are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact police.
